Secrets to Book Cheap Flights!

Keep your flight search history a secret

Have you ever noticed the price of flights increasing the more you search the same route?  That’s because flight prices will increase based on the cookies in your browser.  This is a psychological tactic used to get you scared that prices are going keep rising to entice you to purchase your tickets.  Always search for flights in incognito or private browsing mode.  When starting a new search, close out the browser and re-enable incognito mode.  This will reset your cookies and allow you to view the cheapest flights possible.

Identify the cheapest day to fly out

Most of the time it is cheaper to leave on a weekday, however this isn’t always the case.  The best way to find out is to follow these steps.

Enter your departure and arrival cities.

Enter 1 way, even if you are planning a round trip.  You are just looking first for the cheapest day to fly out on.

Next click “Depart” but instead of entering a date, select “Whole Month”, and then “Cheapest Month” so you can browse all dates to see which is cheapest. Hit “Search flights” to easily see which date is cheapest.

Complete these steps to find the cheapest arrival date as well.

Use the best flight search engines

It goes without saying that all search engines have built in costs as part of taking a cut from the airlines.  Some search engines consistently inflate much higher than others.  Here at My World Travel Inc., we strive to help the customer make the most informed decisions and save our valued customers money.

My World Travel Inc. search engine features numerous budget airlines to ensure our customers are getting consistent low airfare.  Although  some search engines may be consistently lower than others, it is not possible for one search engine to have the cheapest flights at all times.

Fly for free with points

The cheapest flight you can book is free, and the easiest way to do that is with points.  Signing up for just one travel rewards credit card while hitting the minimum spend can land you a major points bonus, which is often enough to earn a free flight!

Book your flights through budget airlines

My World Travel Inc. uses some of the most advanced search engines available and will show you numerous budget airlines in which you can choose to fly with if you wish to do so.

Book your own connecting flights

You can save significantly by booking your connecting flights separately.  However, this is not advisable when the flight times are within hours apart.  This approach most often works best if you are taking a connecting flight at a destination in which you may want to stay and explore.  An example would be instead of booking a flight directly from Sydney Australia to Vancouver Cananda with a connecting flight in Hawaii, you may want to book both these flights separate and stay in Hawaii for a length of time of your choosing.

Find the cheapest place to fly

This goes without saying, if you live relatively the same distance from 2 or more major flight hubs, always check the departure locations for the best deals.

Don't settle for flying with just one airline. Flying with multiple airlines over a long trip can yield significant savings

Don’t settle for flying with only one airline for all your flights.  Ensure you are using a high end search engine that will display all budget airline options and the different prices available for your chosen flight dates.

Do not procrastinate in purchasing your flight tickets once you have determined which dates you will be travelling

Your biggest savings on flights will come from booking far in advance if you can.  The low rates are offered as a baseline and as tickets start to sell, the remaining tickets left will naturally start to increase in cost.

It may be cheaper to pay in other currencies

Budget airlines most often only allow you to pay in the country’s currency in which your flight is departing, but this is not always the case.  If you have a credit card that is free in foreign transaction fees, this may be an option that could help you save!
